Alexandre Ramos Coelho

Alexandre Ramos Coelho is a Ph.D. candidate in International Relations at the University of São Paulo (IRI USP), with an emphasis in International Political Economy. He holds a master degree in Law and Economic Development from São Paulo Law School of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV SP), with specialization in Politics and International Relations from School of Sociology and Politics of São Paulo (FESPSP); Business Law from Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) and in Securities Law from University of São Paulo (USP), with post-graduation in international organizations and international relations from Harvard University at Cambridge – USA (2003-2004). He received his B.A. in Law from Mackenzie University in São Paulo. Currently, his field of research is the relationship between international financial regulation and financial crisis; global monetary system; the economic and monetary relations between China and Brazil, and the economic and political aspects of the Chinese currency. He is a Board Member of the Research Committee on Asian and Pacific Studies at the International Political Science Association (IPSA); Member of the Center of Global Law at FGV-SP, and a member of the Center of International Politics and Economics at USP. Previously, Alexandre was General Counsel at Bank of China-Brazil; and held senior lawyer position at Safra Bank, Itaú-Unibanco Bank, and São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3).
